Where do you find happiness?

Why is it that pleasure offers no lasting happiness in the long term?

Ecclesiastes 2:1 I said in mine heart, Go to now, I will prove thee with mirth, therefore enjoy pleasure: and, behold, this also is vanity.

May times we view pleasure as offering long lasting joy but most times this is very temporary.

James 5:5 Ye have lived in pleasure on the earth, and been wanton; ye have nourished your hearts, as in a day of slaughter.

John 4:13-14 Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again:

But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.

Our joy, fulfillment and lasting pleasure comes from having a heart for Jesus.  Having a personal relationship with God will never leave you empty and wanting for more.

Psalm 16:11Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fullness of joy; at thy right hand there is pleasures for evermore.

Psalm 107:9 For he satisfieth the longing soul, and filleth the hungry soul with goodness.”

May you continue to search for your happiness with Jesus and know he will never let you down.

  1. Yes, happiness is situational. But the joy of the Lord is our strength. And the fruit of the Holy Spirit is love joy peace…

  2. Happiness can be fleeting when we hinge it on ephemeral things.
