1 Samuel 17- My Study Notes

Today from the S.O.A.K. method.

David contrasted Goliath’s weapons with the name of the Lord God. David was bold, not in his own strength but in God’s.

In what area of your life do you need to be reminded that the battle belongs to the Lord?

1 Samuel 17:45 Then said David to the Philistine, Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied.

The Spirit of the LORD really can give us courage. When we are dismayed and greatly afraid, it isn’t the work of the Spirit of the LORD. God wants to give us a holy boldness and courage, not in ourselves, but in Him. My reading this morning….thoughts to ponder.

Thoughts to ponder….do we allow the Lord to prepare our fights? I have to admit I am not sure if I really truly have ever done this. Perhaps a time or two but certainly not as often as I should. Help me Lord.

May you continue to search the word of the living God and not lean unto your own understanding.
